Thank you for considering a donation to
HopeForMegan.
We are pleased to announce the HopeForMegan campaign has now
implemented a sponsorship relationship with the Community Foundation of Carroll County (CFCC). Whereas CFCC
is a 501C-3 non-profit, donations to HopeForMegan are now tax deductible for our
donors.
HFM raises funds to provide financial assistance for children
fighting brain tumors and brain cancer. Such payments may include, but are not limited to, medical expenses
and related travel expenses, palliative care and emotional care for the patient and primary family
members.
HopeForMegan can accept donations in two
forms:
A) You may contribute electronically via credit card by clicking
the “Donate Now” button just below. This will take you to PayPal's secure online payment page where you can
contribute with a credit card.
B) You may also send a check payable

HopeForMegan can accept various other forms
of contributions including:
CASH

By sending a check payable to "CFCC HopeForMegan" to the Community
Foundation. The contribution, if not used immediately, grows through appreciation and
through any additional contributions you may make. You receive the maximum tax deduction
for your contribution in the year you make it. Any unused deduction can ordinarily be
used over the five succeeding years.

SECURITIES
|
|
You may donate securities to "CFCC HopeForMegan". You get the
maximum tax deduction, equal to the current value of the securities. If that deduction is
larger than what you can use in the year of your gift, the excess amount may ordinarily
be deducted over the five succeeding years.
If the securities are appreciated, you pay no capital gains tax. If you own
depreciated securities, you may sell them, take the loss for personal income tax
purposes, and contribute the proceeds to the Community Foundation.

REAL ESTATE
|
|
Your real estate holdings can also benefit "HopeForMegan". Gifts of long-term
appreciated real estate offer advantages similar to gifts of appreciated securities. Real
estate will be accepted by the Community Foundation if it is readily saleable and does
not require management.

LIFE INSURANCE
|
|
You can also donate your life insurance policy to "CFCC HopeForMegan".
You receive an immediate tax deduction, usually in an amount equal to the cash surrender
value. "CFCC HopeForMegan" can grow through appreciation and through any
additional contributions you may make. If you wish to keep the policy in force, your
continued premium payments are also tax deductible.
Or, if you don't want to give up the policy, you can name CFCC
HopeForMegan c/o The Community Foundation of Carroll County as a full or partial
beneficiary.
